Early Voting

Vote By Mail

Only specific reasons entitle a registered voter to vote early by mail. (Previously, this was known as absentee voting.) You may request a Mail Ballot if you:

  1. Will be away from your county on Election Day and during the hours that early voting is conducted

  2. Are sick or disabled

  3. Are 65 years of age or older on Election Day

  4. Are confined in jail

To vote by mail, request an application for Mail Ballot by calling (214) 819-6359. You must request a Mail Ballot by April 23.

You may also print the application for a Mail Ballot directly from  https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/forms/5-15f.pdf.

Once you receive your Mail Ballot, follow the instructions on the ballot to complete and return it to the Early Voting Clerk. The deadline to receive mailed ballots is 5 pm on May 6. All ballots must be postmarked May 4.
